WiFi Printing

Hi,

I thought I'd share this feature I found,

I've had for awhile a HP PSC2510 mutlifunction printer,

Recently a friend purchased a newer version (PSC2410 I think) which had bluetooth support,

I was a little upset by this as I knew my printer wouldn't support bluetooth printing so belived that I could not print to it from my Nokia 9500,

I have since found that I can, Via WiFi, 😊

Although the PSC2510 supports WiFi built in, My printer is wired to my home network and my ADSL router has the WiFi enabled,

In the Control Panel, I've selected, as the printer model, PSC Printers,

NOTE, Avoid using Draft quality, Pictures look really bad, I use Best for resonable results, (use Maximum for Photos?)

Then when printing, go into the printing options, change the connection type to Network (RAW),

Then print, Enter the IP address for the printer, Mines (192.168.0.34), port should be 9100,

Connect to your network, then, Hey Presto, it will print, 😊

I hope someone else finds this useful,

Carl,

Excellent find!
Now all i need to do is get myself a wireless networkable laser printer - mmmmmmm (Colour of course) 😉

Cheers

I have a networked Brother HL5050, and it prints pure text (Printer type: general), but can't print anything else. Would love to fint drivers for other printers than HP, but they don't seem to exist.

I use the PSC Printers driver as I have a PSC2510 printer,

The best thing is to try the different printers in The control panel, Extras, HP Printer Selection, and see which one works for you,

I think it will only work with printers directly connected to a network,

Printers connected to a PC then shared on a network require drivers,

And as far as I know, you can't install printer drivers on the Nokia 9500,

Carl,
