I just bought this brand new Nokia 9290, using it on my existing AT&T GSM service. Only to find out that AT&T's not Internet-ready... I'm so upset... I'm trying to sell this Nokia 9290 now for $450. It's up for grabs, I will mail it out anywhere to the US for $15... If you want to buy it, please e-mail me at [email protected] This is not a scam I assure you... Please serious buyers e-mail me...

Here's some pics I taken... Just to show you guys the real deal... Sorry the pics are blurry, that's the best I can do with a webcam... I put a post it with "MashiMobile" to identify that it is my own, not anyone elses Nokia 9290...

I will ship out to the first person who purchases this Nokia 9290 from me ASAP. There's nothing wrong with this phone... It is brand new~! I promise you that you will never find a price cheaper than what I'm selling it for. I brought this phone from a friend who works inside a cell phone store for $500... No Profit here... A lucky person will get to own this Nokia 9290...

MasHiMobile -> I am also in the US, have the 9290, and have a few questions...
When you say AT&T is not internet ready... I am using Voicestream as my carrier, but am using my MSN account to connect to the internet.
Are you saying you don't have any email, and was hoping AT&T would provide you one? I just grabbed my msn username and password, used one of the local MSN numbers, and surf as if I am sitting at home.

I might know someone who wants it...I'll let you know...

No AT&T just released their GSM plans. Voicestream/T-Mobile already has their GSM out which has some type of Data access ready. I called up Nokia and they said that AT&T doesn't support it...

I don't know the specifics about AT&T, but VoiceStream(T-Mobile) still supports CSD, which is required to get data calls going. Works, but it's painfully slow at 9,600kbps.

Between the lack of Opera and carrier mess, Nokia couldn't have blown the US release any more. Well, if they did it without a single carrier signed up that would be worse. Come to think about it, remembering the silence you get on the other end of the line from a VoiceStream tech support call, I guess they did effectively did release it without any carrier support. [In CA, VoiceStream has not been able to get missed calls to go to my voicemail in over 3 months]

Good call to sell it before the price drops anymore.
