ok...this is the strangest thing i'd seen..i was playing around with my phone & suddenly my phone's display all turned up red...& everything was looking with a tint of red (even after switching it off & on ...sendo start up was lookin red instead of usual black startup)...& i decided to change the colur setting manually by goin to settings & display & wallah the contrast & brightness setting does not even exist anymore 😮 ...& the strangest thing is tat even after i had formatted my phone twice or thrice the same problem continue to exist..any idea guys...???

Contrast and Colour Palette never made it into a release firmware. If you had them, then you must be running a VERY early dev. firmware.

Backlight brightness still exists - it's in the Profiles menu.

yup i never upgraded my firmware as iam happy with the thing i hav...everything was goin smooth till the problem suddenly occured...still cant understand wat the problem is...

i even updated my firmware , but the screen remains red tinted...has anyone faced such a problem b4!!!

nope i hav the menu & all those usual stuffs..phone is working fine ...but the display has a tint of red & the display has lost its quality due to the red tinted foreground...

when you installed the new firmware, did you do a reset? (ie. Hold down the 5 key while turning on the phone)

Make sure you've backed everything up before you do this! (Including contacts)

yup i did tat...but the problem occured b4 i upgraded 2 new firmware & after tat i upgraded the firmware to correct the problem but still it remains unchanged & i did hard reset three or more times...the funny thing is tat only my display is like tat & the photos & video clips tat i record on my phone wen transferred to my pc works good & looks fine..& also my backlight is not stable now...it just flickers sometimes..

problem solved guys.....after biting my nails off to c wats wrong with my phone,i accidentally dropped my phone 2 ground & wallah my phone's display was back 2 normal :icon14: ....& i began 2 analyze the root of the fault & found out tat the problem was coz tat i dropped the phone onto ground already b4 😃 ......,very strange lesson indeed... 😉

& one more thing...the phone's irda seems not 2 work properly...it used 2 work fine but seems it stopped working & my pc irda port cannot detect it whereas it can detect other irda devices around!!!

mayb 😃 ...but i suspect the problem was ter b4 i dropped it onto ground  ...something is always fishy with the phone, but still i luvvv it :icon14:

iam planning 2 add some memory 2 my phone...i know the phone supports mmc cards but do they support rs-mmc...& wats the major difference between them(is ter is any physical size difference betwwn them)..

It supports *some* RS-MMC cards. I've had mixed results getting my RS-DV-MMC cards to read in my X. One works and one doesn't.

SD is your best bet for compatibility.

See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RS-MMC
IMHO the only point in using these is compatibility with devices than can ONLY use these. The smaller formats tend to cost more per MB, and MMC and SD are small enough already!
😊

yup dudes...& one more thing...wats "sd"??...how does this vary from ordinary mmc?...man these memory things confuse...😉

Secure Digital was developed from MMC and is very similar physically, just slightly thicker. This means that any SD-compatible device will also take MMC, but an MMC-only slot won't take SD.

hi kosmonov,
my infrared port doesn't work either since i dropped my phone onto the floor. It fell on concrete tiles so the drop must have been very hard. My X just fell out of my pocket while i was sitting. I could hit myself. I'm gonna try to get it repaired under warranty.
