Max supported SD card speed.

Hi all,

What's the max supported card speed for the X. I'm looking to buy a 1GB, 66x (10MB/s) card. Is it worth spending more money on a fast card. Currently I use a Toshiba 512Mb card (borrowed from my camera). Don't know what speed it is. That brings me to the second question. How do I check SD card transfer rates?

Thanks in advance,
Keith

I'd also like to know what speed the Sendo can use (see thread Best 1GB SD Card). I try to buy according to what I'll use something for in the future, not just now, so I'll pay more (but not a lot!) for more performance. Anyway, prices seem to be dropping just now, and I've ordered a Transcend 1GB SD 80X for 46.98 inc p&p from Orca http://www.orcalogic.co.uk/asp/prodtype.asp?prodtype=13363&ft=d&st=1
I'll report back when I've tried it out 😃

The sendo SD card interface seems very slow to me. I have tried some cards that are faster than others and I notice no difference.

I got the card last weekend and have tried it with loads of ebooks and music. It works fine. The Sendo sees 976MB, which I think is correct for a nominal 1GB.
