UK N-Gage in USA, will it work?

Ive got a UK N-GAGE that is unbocked so any network will work on it. If i send it to america and someone puts in their american company sim card, will it work? Will it be compatible ?

I'm afraid not. The N-Gage and N-Gage QD are dual-band phones that are available as separate North American versions (850MHz/1900MHz) and "Rest of the World" versions (900MHz/1800MHz).

The North American versions won't work anywhere else, and the others won't work in North America (except for things that do not need phone network connectivity).

I swear it should because im on vodafone and when i went to france and italy, the network changed. So if i went to say AMERICA, it would chnage to the designated network of america.

So if i sell my phone to someone in america and they put in their sim card it will work.

UK, France and Italy all operate on 900MHz/1800MHz frequency bands for GSM/GPRS networks. That's why your phone worked in France and Italy.

The phone will *NOT* work in the USA or Canada, because those countries do *NOT* use 900MHz/1800MHz, but *INSTEAD* they have 850MHz/1900MHz.

I have an original N-gage purchased for Ireland. I have now used in the U.S. for nearly two years without any issues at all. I simply took the phone to T-mobile and they put their SIM in. Nothing is crippled including WAP, MMS, and Internet. I can still use it when I am in Ireland as well, with either U.S. T-mobile or I swap out the SIM and use it on Orange.

The first answer is wrong.

The original N-Gage works just fine in the USA. Euro phones can be used there. USA phones can be used here.

N-Gage QD though is Dual band so US phones wont work here and Euro phones wont work there.

Stupid me - I thought new versions got better....
