I quite agree with everything in the review, having come to the app from another direction. I wanted a "today" type app, having found ActiveDesk (AD) indispensible on my S60 phones. I didn't really like the look of the 9210 version of AD on my 9500, so came across PowerDesk (PD) in a search for an alternative. I installed AD, PD and PowerDay (which seems to be a cut down version of PD) to trial and PD is currently out in front for me. The hotkey functionality reminds me of how I used to use Macro5 back in the day on my 5mx... 😊 One thing which I particularly like in the Today screen is the single keypress to mark to-dos or appointments as crossed out; it's a pain to get to that in the built in Calendar.

I also found Arjen's wishlist echoing my thoughts (though I've not reinstalled, so haven't had that snag), though I have one thing to add to it: the icons in the bottom corner of the Today screen stay the same size regardless of zoom level, so the space available for the task list can't increase; it would be nice if they shrank so it did.

Now if only ProfiMail used the same message store as the internal app, or PowerDesk could see how many new messages were in the ProfiMail inbox, I think my setup would be nigh on complete...

Might be worth mentioning my experience with the developers of PowerDesk. I started using it several months ago and though it's miles better than the built in Calendar, I had a number of suggestions for improvements (including syncing the normal desks icons to Powerdesks) and reported several bugs to them.

I got a reply very quickly indicating they'd consider them. Anyway, cut to a few weeks ago when they release a new version (at long last) and not only are none of the suggestions implemented but (as far as I can see) none of the bugs I reported have been fixed either!

I wouldn't mind so much if the new version had been packed with other new features but the changes are minimal. Can't say much for the support 😞

Compare this to the developer of AquaCalendar (Series 80 version Beta out now by the way) who is VERY receptive to feature ideas and bug reports.
