Dear all,
I took my greatest honour to anounce here that ETI Camcorder 2 has been released in Handango early this morning BJ time around 0 o'clock. The version number is 2.01. Thanx everyone here for your kind support here in past one month and half. Finally, we get there.

After some difficalties with Handango title upload management system, you can finally fint it there at:

http://www.handango.com/PlatformProductDetail.jsp?siteId=1&jid=X425B77581553B29752EDF5FAFXE9FF9&platformId=4&N=7&productId=169313&R=169313

or, you can type "CAMCORDER" in Handango's search engine.

We will keep going. Gary and his folks will maintain the SW and publish upgrade and plug-ins here or in Handango.
Just keep in touch, buddy. This is just the beginning of our long journey!

Yours,
Leo

I'd like to also add that the initial release is for 6600/7610 phones. The 6630 version is still being worked on and we are shooting for end-of-month release. People who buy the 6600 version will be entitled a FREE upgrade copy of the 6630 version, and owner of original ETI Cam will enjoy an over 50% discount. In addition, all future maintenance upgrades will be given for FREE to registered users.

Also, a few enthusiastic beta testers in this forum will be rewarded a FREE copy of the software. As I just got back from a long trip I don't know the detail yet. But those of you on the list can expect to receive an email from me early next week.

Cheers and please help spread the words!

I tried, but was unable to find a way to switch to the rea 1MP camera on my 6680.

How do I switch camera ?

The quality from the front camera did appear to be better than from the Nokia app. Unfortunately, it appears that the Movie Editor in the 6680 does not support the output from Camcorder 2..

Regards
Michael

Dear Michael,

This version is not intended for the 6680 phones, but one will be released soon and free of charge for registered customers.

I'm glad you find the quality to be better... Camcorder2 generates AVI files with MPEG-4/Divx compatible video stream + ADPCM audio stream. I'm not sure what format movie editor takes... I assume it's 3gp? Anyway, we chose AVI as output because it is the most widely supported video format and can be easily edited on your PC.

Thanks for the reply. The place I downloaded it from - don't recall if it was Handango - listed it as 6680 compliant, so that's why I tried.

I find the quality of the video cam (app) in the 6680 to be very bad, close to useless. I hope to se a better app, perhaps from you.

The movie editor in the phone is really nice though, I played a little, changing a clip to slow motion, changing start and end of the clips and adding fade transitions. This adds a lot of style to the otherwise quite bad quality clips.

Thanks again
Michael
