Bluetooth Audio, does it stream in stereo?

I know the 9500 and 9300 output stereo as I own a wired stereo headset, but with bluetooth audio profile it also outputs stereo right?
I am thinking that it outputs what ever audio is coming out of the phone, or does it only output mono to cut down on the data rate?
I am thinking about getting one of these Bluetooth stereo headphones that also can be used with your PC, but being able to use it with Oggplay while I am out and about would be great.
Thanks for any help.

Bluetooth stereo output to a Bluetooth stereo headset needs support for the, so called, Bluetooth Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP). The 9300/9500 does not support Bluetooth A2DP, so having a headset that does is not enough.

That's vexing; I'd hoped that if I aquired a car handsfree kit that linked into my car's soundsystem I'd be able to play mp3s or oggs from my 9500 through the system in stereo. Does anyone know if this is a hardware issue (a la the 7650's crippled BT implementation not being able to use headsets at all) or something that could be fixed by (soft||firm)ware?

I think bluetooth profile are dependant on the chip used, software based bluetooth would just be too slow and unworkable.

I do think you'd want to play MP3's through bluetooth as the bit rate for audio is only good for voices, not music,

When I play music through my headset it sounds cr4p,
