Push To Talk (PoC) on 6680

Well, it's been a week since I got my 6680 and I am suitably impressed. Having got in on the Series 60 bandwagon back with the 7650 (still have both of them) then on to a 6600 (passed on to the g/f), the 6680 carries on the mantle very well indeed.

Anyway, when I was looking in to the 6680 I noticed the PoC feature. Now, here in the UK this is not a feature currently supported by any of the network providers, so it's not really a major issue, but I was keen to find out more about it. Firstly, I noticed that there was absolutely no reference to it in the 6680 manual.

According to the Nokia UK 6680 page, the 6680 even has a dedicated PoC key. Where ?!?!?! I can't see it ! I then found the PoC software on a Nokia page for a different territory (Asia, IIRC).

Anyone know where this "dedicated" PoC key is ? As I sure as hell can't find it 😉

And are there any rumblings as to when we might expect this feature in the UK ?

Cheers,

Rob.

Already available on Orange. Do a google search for Talk Now. As yet there is no support for Series 60 phones though.

Cheers,

I think it's the voice dial button - long hold for voice dial, short hold for PoC.
Can't confirm it thou as T-Mob does not support it so the software does not start up.
Thou in the settings it looks like just a server & user/pass is needed.
Wonder if a 3rd party could support it, like in the early days of MMS before the networks supported it you could send via a third party, can't remember their name now.
