i put the latest version that supposed to allow it to work on 3.12
i had some free memory everything was working. i then put the software on there and packed some files now memory is totally full the fone is unusable! just get system error or memory full cant even bring up menu!
tried everything!!
what do i do????
* danger * not so smartcompress!!
Woah there nelly!
I'll send an email to the makers as they have supplied me with a full version to review.
Sounds bad :-?
Can you activate the IR port on your phone to delete files remotely? Alternatively, you could ask your operator to send you a reconfig message to put your phone back into factory settings.
Good luck!
You don't have to get the your operator to do that you press *#7370#, it will then ask you for the lock code (12345 is default).
Only use this as a last resort, I have sent an email to Symbianware and I'm hoping they will reply sometime soon.
I want to see what happens before I do the review.
I think it may be connected with the V3.12 "memory bug". If you try to "uncompress" when you memory is nearly full then it will crash and you won't have enough memory left to run the OS.
It can hardly be SmartCompress fault. Seems like it's the system
behaviour when there's no space on a disk left. That's bad. Such
kind of situation could appear even in case of installation of ANY program.
Anyway we'll add protection to our program from such kind of
situations by prohibiting any operations when there's too little space
on a disk (though it can be somehow uncomfortable in some situations).
The new version with new possibilities will be available very soon.
Though it won't help you in dozens of such situations when the disk is
full (even if you do not use SmartCompress) So it's better to ask
Symbian about this problem.

It'd be better to use PC Suite and remove some files, or use *#7370#
like J2theIZZO says if it doesn't help you.

Yes I don't think this is down to the application, but more of a Firmware issue.
I think it's time to get an Update. :-?
This is a common problem, and it has happened to myself just from getting a text message and overloading the memory.
I would strongly recommend giving your phone to a NSC for a firmware upgrade.
You will loose all of your data on your phone, unless you previously made a backup.
IZZO
panic over well almost
reset code work but i lost everything, i do think that the 3.12 issue should of been taken into account as this is dangerous
thanks anyway :bday:
