First of all, use FExplorer to browse your phone's file system, it's the best file explorer app. available, and free. (download it from www.gosymbian.com or from www.sendosmartphones.com)

Then, try to MOVE the file to a different location on your E: drive (memory card) - it may be that the phone is protecting the file as it's in the System folder of the E: drive.

If that still doesn't work, I'd suggest backing up your phone to your PC (using pcConnect), then trying to reformat the memory card.

Hi,
I too get the same problem. But I have a memory card reader.I delete the files using the card reader.

It sounds like your phones are protecting the files.

How would this happen? Obviously, deletion is prevented when a file's in use, but how else can a file be proctected (from within the Sendo)?

DRM can protect some file types. Why an MPEG file would get protected I don't know, but it might have something to do with being in the system folder.

You should still be able to rename / move the files to a different location, which should then allow you to delete them.

I suspect the file is set as READ ONLY.

As far as I k now, S60 has no way of turning off this flag. It can only be set on a PC, so you will need to put it in a card reader, check the properties, then turn off the RO flag.

It's not much help yet, I know, but the next version of FExplorer *should* have the ability to change file atributes. (so their website says anyway)
