Oh crap! Theme Problem

5 replies · 1,860 views · Started 26 July 2005

I'm running the latest firmware, and when I installed the sendo medion theme (or whatever its called, the blue one), and I accidently clicked one of my old themes instead without thinking, and it crashed the phone. Now, when I try and boot, it just freezes before getting past the black and white sendo screen. It wont even go to the charging screen.

Hard resets dont appear to work either at I hold 5, then turn the phone on while still holding 5, and it goes to a red screen briefly, flashes white and turns off!

What can I do, anyone?
Thanks in advance,

Piers

The phone has stopped turning on at all now. Nothing, no power, nothing when I put in the charger. I guess my phone is screwed

I made a backup before I moved to the new firmware today, is there a way of loading the backup to a new Sendo x via pc connect? or will it see that its a different phone?

also does anyone know a way of reading the contacts and mail from the backup. I can see them individually for the mail, but the contact number list is all over the place and seeming makes no sense.

cheers

Your phone won't power on at all? A screwed theme installation shouldn't be able to do this...

Make sure your battery is FULLY charged. Try to start the phone in update mode (by pressing * on the handset as you turn it on) - if it comes up ok, reflash the phone wih the latest firmware. On reboot, make sure you hold down 5 to do a full re-format of the phone.

This should make it come back to a stage where it will boot correctly. If not, where do you live?

It worked!

The battery charging image wasnt coming on, so I assumed it wasn't charging. But I put it on charge for a few hours anyway. Tried to do a reset, and bingo! got the green tick to check.

Rebooted, loaded up my last backup (last night) Now I'm on the mondrian theme and all is well with the world.

*sigh*

Only for information: The battery charging image is only an animation from the current theme. When installed a old theme which doesn't fit current firmware or install an broken theme then you won't get the display of the charging animation. I was already playing with a new charging animation 😊
