Satellite navigation = GPS = Global Positioning System.

GPRS = General Packet Radio Services = packet data communications in the phone network

Anyway, you can get a Bluetooth GPS receiver for your 9300 and then GPS/navigation software such as TomTom, Navicore, Route66, WayFinder & whatever there are.

Where can I purchase a Satellite phone for my son who is going to Afghanistan?
My son and daughter in law are being deployed to Afghanistan in August and we are interested in purchasing a Satellite phone for them, any suggestions on a good model?

I am sorry , but I am afraid you are on the "wrong" forum , in a "wrong" thread . This forum is about cell phones , connecting through GSM , UMTS , and working on Symbian Operating Software .
This thread is about GPS , road navigation in the car , bicycle or walking . Maybe , on this forum with many subscribers and experience , you can post a new thread about "The Best Satellite Phone For Afghanistan ?" in the section : "Non Symbian Phones" .
Through Google I found a shop with different brands : http://www.globalcomsatphone.com/
But : it is costly ......
