I've been having loads of problems with getting my pc suite to work with my nokia 7650, it's the nokia connection manager that's not detecting my phone even when i've got the wireless link visible and my MRouter shows that a phone is connected through infra red and i've selected it. The only thing that doesn't work, is the data suite itself, can anyone help???
At the moment, i'm using an MA-620 infra red device and the nokia connection suite which came with the CD.
I've tried uninstalling it and installing it again, but again, it's only the data suite that doesn't load, it asks me to connect the phone then to click OKAY and I can't do anything except Cancal (as clicking OKAY doesn't do anything)
Also, i've noticed that the nokia connection manager cannot be uninstalled, it's only installed into my control panel and there's no option of uninstalling it.
Anyway, Please can someone get back to me about this???

I know there's nothing wrong with my connection things (like my infra red thingy) as it's worked before. But that was before I reformatted it, however, the time before that, it didn't work.
I only decided to bring this up now as I only just found out about this forum the other day.

I just found this today as well. I'm using PC Suite on Win2000 and haven't had any problems.
I can think of some reasons (may be far fetched) why it won't work:
1. If it is the first time you connect then PC suite tries to send the phone around 30 kb of config files. If you have already filled your phone up with photos it won't be able to connect.
2. Have you got any conflicting devices (have a look in device manager)?
I've checked that, at the moment, my phone has just under 2 megs left for free use. And there's no conflicting devices, although my MA-620 is installed with a

after the name of it in the devide manager, maybe that's linked to why this dones't work. Do you know exactly what is sent to my phone for the first time during connection? as i could go into my phones internal files and delete that file.

I'm afraid I don't know which files, but if you have already used PC Suite on another PC that may be the problem.
Have you got a bluetooth card? If so, you could rule out any problems with the IR if it doesn't work.
Nope, i've not got a bluetooth thing. I have an idea which might test out if it's my phones settings, as i have a computer downstairs, i can install the MA620 onto that and the nokia data suite and see if it works on that or not.

If I remember correctly, PC Suite (or one of it's components) is not working under Windows XP!!!! Please check nokia web site to check if this is true or not... 😮
I have NDS working on XP with a USB IRDA adaptor, only issue I have is the Image XFER is a bit flakey sometimes. I tend to find its easy to beam a file over and install that mess around. Syncing works with Outlook and I can backup, for all the good that does.
Here's a though though, I have HandySAFE and it comes with a nice plugin that allows you to sync with NDS and also enter items.
Now I wonder if someone would be working on an SMS plug in that would allow you to sync the sms/email and also save them(export). Its a thought?
