Pictures format on 6600 ?

Could someone tell me what format use Nokia 6600 for pictures/photos ?
I have an iMac OS X and have some pics i would like download on my cell, i succeed, but the cell is unable to open them. ( Unknow Format ) I tried .gif, .jpeg, .png, .psd and none was working !

The phone should handle .gif, .jpeg and .png just fine.

How did you download/send them to your phone, exactly?

What size/resolution are they (they could be too big for the phone to open due to limited amount of memory available)?

If they're too big, resize them to be smaller and with JPEG add more compression factors before downloading/sending them to the phone.
