about 30 seconds after plugging in my Sendo X US Keyboard, I loose the reception entirely whether it's GSM or GPRS.
Oh yeah, I am now using Cingular in USA which is much better than T-Mobile in terms of reception.
What is the matter? Also is my Sendo X compatible with "EDGE"?
Is there a way to increase the function of the internal antenna?... And where is the antenna located in the device?.... not the external antenna of course (where the adapter goes).
Hey Blah!
I can't explain the probelms you continue to have. I use my #3 on a US keyboard 12 hours a day and do not experience what you describe. I have a second US keyboard for home use that gets used with my #2 and #3 handsets with no errors. My #4 handset has been used briefly on the second keyboard as well and all is good. So the bottom line is that I have no clue what is causing your problem. Are you losing the signal itself or just the icon?
As for the antenna - i will defer to one of the technical reps
Sendo X is not EDGE compatible.
Sorry to hear that you switched from t-mo. I have had no problems with them at all.
Good luck.
Easy ones first...
No, the X isn't EDGE compatible.
The internal antenna is located under the top back of the handset (in the black bit above where the camera is) - it's sandwitched between the outer cover and the inner chasis. (which is why you can't see it when you take the phone apart)
As for loosing signal - are you plugging the mains charger into the keyboard when this happens, or just using the keyboard on it's own? Also, which firmware (you are on 1.198.8.2 aren't you)?
Other than that, I haven't seen this problem - I'll go and do some testing...
i have no problems when using the charger or running off phone power alone
I have never plugged in the charger when using the keyboard.
Do you think my antenna is screwed up? Is it possible? I doubt it is the problem because I still need to reboot the phone to use my phone "immediately"
.... Then my signal is restored, but that is not what is called 'functional'.
i have no resolution for you other than to try another X and see hwat happens.
as far as the antenna goes - the only thing i can think of is perhaps when you did your mic relocation that something was missed during re-assembly?

The one thing it's (easy) to damage when taking the phone apart / putting it back together is to watch the two metal connectors between the PCB and the back of the casing (these are the aerial connectors) - sometimes they can bend the wrong way, which then means there will be awful network reception.
However, you'll notice this bad network performance immediately - it won't only display itself when used with a keyboard, so I'm afraid at the moment I can't provide a better answer.

yeah, it's never worked right even before the mic relocation. Plus I am very carefull and patient so I know I didn't miss anything or cause damage.
I get full bars here and there but my real problem is that the signal cuts out completely.
It may be that connecting the keyboard stresses the connectors out, resulting in a drop in signal. Just a theory.

No, the connectors are at the top of the phone - they won't be affected by the keyboard being plugged in. (well, it's highly unlikely anyway)
i told ya i would give you 50 bucks for it!
😊
