Sending Photo Via MMS

Whenever i try to send a picture via mms it gets compressed by a factor of 10, is there anyway to change that, (the pictures look really ugly, size reduces from 180kb to 18kb)

Go to Messaging... then Options (Left Navi Key) then select Settings... and go to Multimedia message ... then scroll down to Image size and choose Large...

But you have to check with your provider on what the size limit for sending mms, otherwise you can't send it.

It was on large, my operator alows me to send messages upto 85Kb.

I noticed because friends with phones like 3200 , etc send me messages and the size of their images is like 30Kb where as the size of mine is like 10-20Kb.

This drastically affects the quality cause nokia resizes , doesnt resample.

I figured it out!

Make sure you select the Image Size as "Large" if you want the attached pic not to be compressed went you send it.

Here's the thing... The messaging program compresses the file to be attached, if the vertical pixel dimension is greater than 480 pixels. (eg. a pic with 480x640 will be reduced in size, but not a 640x480 picture)... Try it out and see!!

I tried to attach a 70Kb file 480x640 and it was reduced to 24Kb.
On the other hand I attached a 56Kb file 640x480 and it was still 56KB attached!

I hope that answers your question. 😊

haha stupid phone, now the images are like 170kb or so and it cant attach.
Lol. il have to stick with normal without vga resolution.

I really envy my bro, he has the k750i with the 2 megapixel cam, and his damned fone reduces the images soo perfectly...agh!
