I've tried iremote and it didn't work... the installation installed well, but when you launch it, it said that this phone is not supported...
Unfortunately, my IRDA stopped working, i'm not sure if it is consecutive or not, but i have some doubt that removing this app remove some piece of software that drive irda functions...
I put my ref in the dedicated thread, but no niew for the time being.... it is a bit long now!!
I believe there is a mix between two pb :
-the irda "red light".."visible" throgh plastic transparency/short battery life (???)
-the REAL irda pb when it don't work, like in my case: THIS IS THE PB!
Let me propose a way to check software : one guy with a working software under last version could list all the files he hold on the sendo, on a pc,... I mean by using a file editor, listing all the hierarchy, all the folders and all the files, in order to compare a non working irda sendo x to check if all the piece of software are there... or if anybody knox directly where to check?...please let me know!!!
For other problem solution or piece of soft missing it should work? 😉
What i can insure is that my sendo has never been hurt nor dropped, and therefore i can not think it is an hardware pb, i principally rely on a piece of soft missing...
ads.
Can anyone with a working irda port let me know if you have the following files
c:\system\data\irda.esk ( Yes / No )
Z:\system\data\irda.esk ( Yes / No )
Z:\system\data\irda_port1.esk ( Yes / No )

i do not read russian, so i can't comment with the exception of what does a thread about SX-1 connectivity have to do with the Sendo X IRDA issue? 🙄
I get the same results as Mark:
No
No
Yes
(plus others) - this is tested on two different firmware versions...both with IRDA working)
no
no
yes
...but the problem is tat my irda does not work..😊...but these r the files i c ..
Just don't work or keep the red light on inside the capsule?
it stopped working abruptly one day..dont know y..since then im using bt instead of ir..but i miss ir function 😞 ..& one more thing senapone..wat a creepy avatar..😊 😊
stu , are the files under z: drive editable ?
i am tring to find if total irremote has made modifications to the IR stack / config
i am using a utility called UNmakeSIS to extract all the files from the IRRemote App to check if it made any changes to the system.

Unfortunately it's not possible to edit anything on the Z drive. If an application wants to over-write a system setting, it must store the file in the relevent location on the C drive. *supposedly* the phone will look to C before Z for any particular file. (don't quote me on that, it may be wrong)
Damn I wish I had read this forum last week, I just ordered a new battery because I was only getting around 18 hours life with no usage, bugger bugger bugger!
Right, I have investigated the IR led on my X using my Olympus digital camera, which is IR sensitive, and I have the IR/battery-life problem.
Now the LED comes on as soon as the power switch is pushed! This suggests to me that it is a hardware problem and cannot have anything to do with the firmware. Somehow a flaw on the circuit board is allowing voltage to leak to the IR LED. Not good at all!
It seems therefore that the only available course of action to stop the problem is remove the LED. What a stinker?
Damn I wish I hadn't bought this phone.
Damn Sendo/Expansys for suckering me into buying one of their "special offer" phones - "stock dumping" more like because they knew they were going t*ts up!
Oh well never mind. We live and learn.

As stated before, this is a software problem with the last two firmware releases (1.98.5.2 and 1.198.8.2).
Unfortunately this is proving very awkward to fix, as no-one has access to the Sendo souce code any more, but we ARE trying to come up with some things to fix this.
More news as we find it out...
virtualsom wrote:does installation of Psiloc Total IRremote control affect the SENDO X's IR functionality ?I had installed this app earliear ( i.e when the phone wa new ) and removed it the same day as it was not working .
Psiloc Total IRremote is not compatible with Sendo X.
Ah, so what you told me by email about a version of TotalRemote being in the pipeline wasn't true then?
We still are in a stuck ? :con?

1.198.5.2 should work, but I suggest turning of IR by desoldering the LED 😉 IR is f***ing slow and imho useless.

Did just that..... i got the IR problem out of the blue so i ripped that bad boy out and now i have a working phone =)
We are generally thinking that it's a unreversable errors caused by sendox's systemware bugs.like while you overclocks PC,the CPU get burned....😃
so don't do things useless.Perhaps sendo's support can help,but even now I
can't explorer their website. how can I expect that😞
Till now I have not meet a friend on net who can use the IRDA normally.
we just open the shell, get rid off the damned IRDA LED devices.....wa,world get quiet, everything being OK😃
Last week I watch the film"the pianist on sea 1900".It's a great film.
There is red light constantly coming out from my IRDA port. because of this my phone becomes"hot" and my battery discharges fast. Help me overhere.

stuclark wrote:1.198.8.2 DOES support IRDA, but there is a bug somewhere which cuases an IR configuration file to become corrupted. This then causes IR to either not work, or to be on all the time, which then drains the battery,Unfortunately, no one has so far been able to pinpoint exectly what this bug is.
I don't know about any software patch or fix. The only thing I came across was removing it from your Sendo. Please do a search on this forum for a "how to"
Good luck.
i have found that when i switch on my X after being kept switch off for 4-5 hrs., red light was not turn on immediately but after 15-20 min. it turned on. So i also think that it is not hardwarec fault,is it?. (i have wasted my money to buy new battery cause i was not knowing that my IRDA led was on. 😡 )
Finally, my get rid of that red dragon(that red light buddy) who was eating my phone battery.😊
I just went to phone repairer and told this problem. When i get my phone back suprisingly that red light was not ON. But he didnt told me .how he has done this.i cant help you guys in solving this. sorry :dontknow:
but he told me that he has not removed IRDA section but remove some function. i dont know which are they.
Maybe the guy disconnected the IR? Anyway, nice to hear it worked out ok for you:icon14:
Does you IRDA works now?
It's easy to think the repairer disconnect the irda module from your phone...
ya i my irda is not working. but anyway i dont use it.
my sendo X irda light is always on and my sendo heat when i charge and my battery life only 2 or 3 hours tell me the solution plzzz
