I downloaded the danish firmware 198.8.2 from the sendo smartphones site..on the site it said that it weighed 30mb but my download completed at 18mb! is that the way its supposed to be? please reply a.s.a.p people...thanks in advance!
p.s: only got my sendo x today..is it just me or is this one great phone??! just need to get rid of this dodgy russian firmware and i'll be one happy guy! 😊

From my experience after downloading and installing both the previous vodafone firmware and the current expansys firmware, both were a little over 30mb. I think your connection to the server was cut off, you will probably have to redownload the firmware again.
Once it has downloaded, you will be able to double click on file and it will self extract to the right place usually c:\sendoupdate. Also the icon of the executable is the sendo logo, if the file doesn't have the sendio icon or it doesn't self extract after clicking on it, then the firmware is likely to be corrupted and will have to redownload it again.
Hope you get the full 30mb download on your next try.
The download is indeed just over 30MB. If you're continuing to have problems downloading from us, please let me know which version it is you require, and I'll give you alternate download location.
also, you may want to right click and "download as" or "save target as" and monitor the progress ensuring you get the full file. i have found at times that the file will show complete when it has actually dropped out half way through. if this is the case, go through the process again until you get the entire file.
thanks for the quick reply..thought you guys might find this interesting..as i said earlier my sendo is running on a firmware(1.198.8.2) which was edited to include russian text by a company called rover, apparently they are the official distributors since over here the fon is called rover pc sendo x and has an R symbol on the battery cover..unfortunately they totally messed up the firmware because the fon works slower than my n-gage QD which runs on a 104mhz processor :frown:
i read somewhere on a russian forum that the phone cant receive calls while the mp3 player is working, decided to check this on my phone. have the same prob, i opened the settings in my mp3 player and voi la! the only settings there are the random and repeat features, theres nothing else there.i decided to check what other functions hinder incoming phone calls, calls dont come in when the camera is working :frown: this really sucks!planning to download the new firmware and upgrade my phone today, hope all of this goes away.
The options you're seeing in MP3 player are the only ones which are available in any firmware. However, a lot of work was done on fixing the problem which caused calls not to be received while playing MP3s.
I have not heard of any issues with using the camera before, certainly not an issue which prevents calls from being received. Maybe the latest firmware will be able to resolve this bug for you.
One word of warning though - unless Rover can supply you with an installable version of your current firmware, you won't be able to downgrade back to a Russian firmware once you have loaded the new version.
