Playing mpeg-4 clips on nokia 6680

Hi all, I am using a program called ImTOO to covert video files to mpeg-4 format. Whenever I try and play the clips in realplayer on my 6680, it says unable to play media.

If I convert to 3gp it plays no probs. I know the phone supports mpeg-4. The size of the converted video is correct as is the frame rate, but still no joy.

Is there a tried and tested method of getting mpeg-4 video to work?. And is the quality any better than 3gp?.

I'm only an amateur at digital video, but I seem to recall that the MPEG-4 standard allowed for several different codecs. I think RealPlayer can play one codec but obviously not the one you're trying 8-)

Look for standards called "H" dot something, for a start. The free Nokia Multimedia Converter does an OK job, especially if you up the bit rate to 128kbps.
