Need help unlocking MMC card

5 replies · 33,445 views · Started 20 August 2005

Hello, I have a Nokia 6230 with a locked MMC card (I got a replacement phone from Cingular, but my old MMC card no longer works in the new phone, both are 6230's)

I have read online that it is possible to get the MMC password using Seleq or FExplorer. However, my 6230 does not support these applications, and I don't know anyone with a Symbian phone.

Would anyone on this forum be kind enough to be willing to unlock my MMC card using their symbian phone?

If you are willing, I will mail you my MMC card (using regular mail) with an addressed return envelope. It won't cost you anything except a little time and I would be extremely grateful.

The instructions for getting getting the password are:
1: Use any efile manager like SELEQ 1.65
2: Open SELEQ 1.65 and go to Root C:
3: Options and FIND, write MMCSTORE press OK
4: Send this file by Bluetooth or Infraread to your PC
5: Rename the file MMCSTORE to MMCSTORE.TXT
6: Open the file and the password off the MMC are there

Again, I would be extremely grateful if someone was willing to do this favor for me, and really don't want to have to buy a new MMC card (or lose my data on the card).

Respond to this Thread or email me at [email protected] if you are interested,

Thank you

Question, did you use the pasword protection option on your device?
If so, this cannot be over written with an other s 60 device.

You could try to get into the mmc card by using a linux box wich would be running kernel 2.4. This kernel sees the data and you would be able to copie it to an other storage medium. You could use Knoppix live cd-roms for mthis purpose, but no newer version then 3.7 cause the latest versions are using kernel 2.6 and this one doesn't see the data on the corrupted disk anymore......

Hope that this will help you out.

it is impossible to do that because i have the smae problem with my n-gage. i had a password on my mmc card and my n-gage screwed up so i had to get a replacement and the i lost everything on my n-gage. i inserted the my old mmc into my replacement n-gage and looked up the file c:\\system\mmcstore.txt using fexplorer and there was no password in the file. the password is only stored on your phone. the only way i can think of getting that password it to get your phones memory scanned by a computer (throught those ppl who do the unlocking for money) and retrive the password that way.

people my N-gage was broken, and after I repaired it, my MMC asked for password......and I dono the password. How can I reset the password? PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!! You can find me at [email protected] [-o< help!
