Can't upgrade to new firmware

4 replies · 1,924 views · Started 20 August 2005

When i put my sendo X in download screen, and connect the usb cable, I hear the connect sound, then it disconnects, a few seconds later, it reconnects and then it disconnects.

The drivers are installed properly, in normal mode i can do everything but in download mode it doesnt works.

Any ideas ? :frown:

edit: My current firmware version is X 1.56.2.2 Release IG 20-aug-2004

You need to install a new set of drivers for when the phone is in download mode.. If you have, then i'm not sure. I had a similar problem with the USB device being detected/not detected, It went away once the drivers were installed. (i'm guessing it's caused by Windows trying to Plug and Play the device, but the lack of drivers prevents it, so it keeps connecting and disconnecting in a vicious circle).

Make sure you follow the instructions for updating yoru firmware very carefully. As always make sure everything is backed up.. and if nothing helps try formatting the phone and try again? sometimes that can help.

Yep, that helped, they should underline it more that u have to install another driver (Or at least some detection in the upgrade app to see if the proper driver is installed). Was trying to install the default driver.

Thx john

More than welcome 😊 I think the Firmware update process could be a little easier, but it's good that we can actually update 😃

it could be ALOT easier, but, yes, i'm happy to that we have an update 😛

Only have my sendo for a few days, and already love it.
