heheh, that is not light , that is sensor .
notice when u r in the dark place, ur keypad and screen light will automatically switch on,
check your mnual and it will tell u what is that .

Do'h, i know what u mean the automatic keypad light thing, arggh been going mad on figuring out how to get it working the light which it is not! Thanks mate.

If you notice it is indeed a light sensor for the front and keypad lights but the phone works in the opposite way to what you would expect. During bright sunshine it will brighten the display, at night it will dim it. If you don't see what I mean then wait til the hours of Darkness and use your phone, then press the power button to bring up the profile list, it automatically switches to maximum brightness instantly.

Go to tool , setting , phone , display and choose light time- out. it should be able to light up when u r in the dark place , if it's doesn't , bring to NCC, it could be hardware faulty as well.
