Powering on problems...

Hi there,
I've had my Nokia 3230 for 1 month now and have experienced pretty much all of the 'bugs' mentioned on this site (oh how fantastic). However, I have been experiencing something that has not been mentioned at all.

I experience problems when trying to turn the phone back on after turning it off, numerous things usually happen but here is a typical example: it brings up a white screen that says NOKIA at the bottom....then doesn't do anything else; when pressing the power button again it eventually asks me to type in my pin code (after about a minute's wait); it accepts the code then sometimes it decides to actually turn on the phone, other times it just stays lit up with a blank screen. 😡

Last night the phone actually turned itself off (and I promise I didn't throw it or drop it!), I managed to turn it back on but there was no network coverage; I turned it off then on again and still no network coverage but decided to leave it on and hope it returned during the night.
I woke up this morning to a turned off phone which will NOT TURN BACK ON even if I ask it nicely!! :frown:
:icon4: HEEELLLLLLPPP!! :icon4:
I have taken everything out of the back of the phone, put it back in and it STILL wont turn on.
I have tried plugging the phone into a charger, but the phone doesn't even recognise it is plugged in (no battery charging symbol).
I charged the phone fully before it started playing up last night.

Any ideas you wonderful, wonderful people???!! 😉

that doesn't sound good, i'd return it. although i do sometimes get a very simular problem when switching on, it starts up and starts to load the screen saver but then shuts down! but i have no trouble switching it back on again.

Thanks for the tip, saved me lots of time trawling the internet for other options!! Took it to a Carphone Warehouse store which has a repair centre, they are fixing it for free (european warranty for 12 months or something) although it could take up to 2 weeks....sigh.

Cheers! 😊
