General Questions 6630

Yesterday I got my new 6630 and now I have some questions I could not solve on my own.

1. MMC: I bought an RS MMC DV 256 MB card on ebay. My card reader AND the phone don't recognize it, but my MP3 player and the card reader of my sister does so it is not corrupted. I tried every formatting method I know.
It even looks different:

The one at the top is the one from Ebay, the other one is the 64MB Nokia card

Any special method how to format my card or something?

2. Recording Video: When I want to record a video using the original camera it says "function not supported (-5)"
What is that and why not supported? Got a branded phone but I don't think this is the reason.

3. Some programs don't work at all. Sp Mark 04 did work on my 3660 but now on 6630 it doesn't even start. Some other progs as well...

If anybody got a solution, please tell me. Thanks.

thats an mmc mobile memory card, so it should work with your phone, try using it on another phone eg 6630 or 6680 but thats the one it requires strange that it didnt work. also try putting it in your phone and then going to tools memory card, and formatting it there or u can format it on the pc using fat only not fat32

Thanks I'll try that. Unforunately I have no other phone to test it.

When I go to Organizer -> Memory it says "No card" so formatting fat only is the last option

EDIT: Does not work with FAT :frown:
Is there any other tool to format except from the Windows program?

The bigger the memory, the more pins you have - so looking different isn't an issue. My 512 MB has 14 plus a long one!

It's definitely a DV one is it?

There were problems with early versions of 6630 firmware with 256 cards.. what's your s/w version - press *#0000#.

It should be 3.45.113 or better.

Cheers,

Chris

Yes it is.

<--It is exactly this one

I would go to a shop to let me help but the people there know nothing. They can't even tell SD card from MMC 😃

Solution to Problem 2: This only happens if you use an invalid SIM card

Got a program called "MMC Medic" but it took more than 5h to format so I had to abort it after windows said it crashed.

Nobody got an idea about the other probs?
