I was nearly a victim of CommWarrior!

I have a Nokia 6680.

While on the London Underground today, I looked at my phone, and it was being sent something via bluetooth.

I accepted the file (hoping it wasn't some sort of loud, audiable porn) and opened it.

"Installer" started up and said the usual "Supplier is not verified, continue anyway" message.

I knew I could see the name of the program before installing it, so I said yes and it came up Install "ComWarrior"

Obviously I cancelled it and deleted the file I recieved.

Just to warn you, this Russian virus is now in the UK!

Yeah it is an advantage to live in a village 😃 No bluetooth device near your home, only your own...

Yet another reason not to travel on the Tube...

BTW, should I assume from your username that you're a fellow Mac user, or that you're Scots? Maybe both?

No I got no MAC

Mac is the scottish title for son I think. I don't know where this name comes from, heard it once and liked it.

BTW: Now you can see where I'm from, not Scotland

CommWarrior is also available in South Africa. 😮 The BT virusses are actually non starters. You need to be an idiot to get infected. I've got CommWarrior, Cabir and Skulls install files on my phone. I've collected them travelling around Johannesburg. 😉

Really??? I didn't know it is so common to get a virus in a big city 😮

I WAS a victim of the commwarrior virus.
I bought a second hand 6630 and noticed always mms messages in my outbox.first I tought they were of the former user but it kept trying to send(but i've got a prepaid card so I can't send mms message (thank god))
So I looked through my phone with Fexplorer and noticed a message from a mail or mms "The matrix got you" or something. so I looked this up a google and came to this virus.
deleted the files in my phone( although I couldn't find 2 files) but now the outbox messages are gone .

now I understand why the guy wanted to sell the phone that cheap ;o)
