gprs traffic counting

This is one of the thing that is counted in the Log application (look for Data or GPRS Counter).

unfortunatly in my Nokia 6680 I am unable to find that information in the log application. It has only logs for incoming/outgoung calls.. :frown:

any idea where to look?

On the 6680 its the one below Call Duration and is called Packet Data.

Well there's not a lot you can do to save traffic apart from being aware what creates it.

Common usages:

Web / Opera / Browser Usage
E-mail (sending and receiving)
Downloads (of any type)
Uploads (e.g. sending images using Lifeblog / blogging programs)
Stremain Video / Audio
MMS Messages (though usually this is not included in your allowance by your operator)
Any application thats gets data through the network (e.g. stock quote program, currency programs, some route planners (e.g. Wayfinder).

With Opera you can use a cache / accelerator program they have (the name escapes me at the moment), which will reduce GPRS usage when browsing.
