I AM AN AVID USER OF THE COMMUNICATOR RIGHT FROM THE 9000 SERIES AND JAVE A GOOD KNOWLEDGE OF THE SETTINGS AND SOFTWARE.
IF IN THE 9500 MODEL COMMUNICATOR MODE, YOU HAVE SAVED ONLY THE NAME OF A COMPANY (UNDER THE COMPANY HEADING) WITH A TEL NOS. WHEN YOU TRY TO SEARCH AND VIEW THE SAVED COMPANY NAME, FROM THE COVER PHONE, IT ONLY DISPLAYS THE TEL NOS AND NOT THE COMPANY NAME. IF I HAD SAVED THE NOS UNDER FIRST NAME OR LAST NAME THEN IT WOULD HAVE APPEARED. THIS PROBLEM WAS NOT IN THE 9200 COMMUNICATOR, SO WHY CAN'T SYMBIAN CORRECT IT FOR 9500 SERIES. ANY ONE HAS A SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM ?
I've observed and inquired about this problem. From what I gather, Nokia considers this "normal". Theonly workaround that I've seen suggested (in this forum) is the place the said Company Name into the field for first or last name.
Worth it? Probably not. Shame on Nokia, for such an expensive phone. The 9290 was able to perform this task flawlessly.

The sad part is that I have checked with all distributors of Nokia in the UAE and they come up with the same answer enter the Company Name in the First Name or Last name field and it will solve your problems. They do not understand that of my total 3500+ contacts I have over a 1000 contacts which are just listed under Company, such hotel names, govt office nos, taxi service companies etc. All these were in my 9210 (USA 9290), they should have thought of this as when I updated my contacts from 9210 to 9500 it went and listed under the company field, they should have designed the software to transfer all contacts to First or Last name field if they think this is normal. Hope they have the common sense to update this problem in their next softward upgrade.
