Just realised the new firmware is out, so going through the usual painful process of getting things to work on a PC! (god I wish there was a Mac version...)
Since last doing any syncing from the PC I've upgraded to XP so decided to start everything from scratch. Downloaded new USB driver and latest PC Connect.
Driver didn't work (in fact, didn't seem to actually exist in the download) but finally got it to work by using the version that comes in the firmware upgrade download.
XP finally recognises the phone but now PC connect won't. Just says 'Please connect device' all the time - restarted PC, restarted phone, tried connecting phone before or after launching software etc.
XP is convinced everything is ok and sees the phone correctly, phone is in connect mode. What do I try next?
Cheers

I recently moved to The Happy World Of Apple(TM) and also bemoan the lack of a Mac Sendo Connect version. However for appts and whatnot, the latest version of iSync has been updated to support the X. It may be worth a try. If I get a chance, I'll do a write up about using X's with Macs on the SSC website.

Oh, I use iSync for all day-to-day syncing (doesn't need the latest version even, still on 10.3), it's only when I want to upgrade the firmware that I have to don a dark cloak, grab a flaming torch and head down the spiral staircase to the PC dungeons! Because of exactly the type of problems I'm having...
The USB drivers used for firmware updates and for pcConnect are different - that's why pcConnect can't see the phone.
You need to use the USB driver which is posted on the Sendo website, and which is also in the pcConnect folder (Program Files\Sendo\pcConnect) - then everything should work.

Cool, thanks..
Bit confused though - firstly, I tried the one from the website originally but there only appeared to be a info file in the XP folder, no actual driver..
Also, how do I now go about updating the driver from the pcConnect folder? I'm not being prompted at any point to do this..
Thanks for your help 😊
I've got all impatient and instead copied everything of importance (I hope) onto the memory card. Going to upgrade the firmware anyway and have a nice clean start 😊
Gulp.
Apologies for talking to myself, but how do you check the firmware version on the phone anyway?
I've just done the update and everything seems the same - the installer warned that everything would be deleted but all my apps/contacts/files etc are all as I left them....
Just checked firmware and it hasn't been updated... tried running the updater again (for a laugh) and it's not seeing the phone's connected now 😞
Arrrggghhhh...
