Don't need it yet (thankfully) but tried to see what it looks like and can't seem to boot in safe mode. -How can you tell if you're in it?
Ive tried holding down the pencil key (even when entering my sim pin!) but it just boot as normal.
Any ideas?
Cheers

Eh? 'Safe' mode? Never heard of it. Where did you get this idea from?
Steve
You should have heard of it... 😉
Pressing down the pencil key works fine with my 6630. It is OS8 as well...

Maybe this is a 'start without any third party startups' mode? Sorry, I'm still fairly new to S60....
Steve
ok just to let u know its called flight mode or offline mode, i dont mean to be an ass though
heres one way to boot into it. take out the sim and just turn it on that will do it. and to put flight mode from already being on just tap the on off switch and go to offline mode

That is not the same!
If you boot in safe mode pressing down the pencil key, the phone will start without the background applications (like SysMan).
You can still send sms and call someone while in offline mode you can't call, but background apps are still working.
