a925 - Show Photo on Incoming Call?

2 replies · 1,915 views · Started 27 August 2005

Hi, I just bought an a925 off ebay.

One of the features I'm trying is you can take photos of people using the camera, and then attach the photo to the person's contact.

I thought it would be obvious that when you receive an incoming call from that number, the person's photo would also pop up while your phone is ringing. Unfortunately it doesn't do this! What's the point of attaching a photo to their contact then?

Does anyone know if it's possible to get thier photo to appear while the phone is ringing or is there addon software that does this for UIQ?

It appears the Sony p800/900s do this sort of thing!

Thanks in advance

Well, you seem to have done something wrong, or perhaps there's something amiss with your phone, because you were exactly right. When you attach a photo to a contact, it will show up when that person is calling you.

The system sometimes needs a reboot before it displays contact-pictures on incoming calls. I have not yet figured out why and when...
Still: Pictures are only displayed as very small "icons" in the popup-dialog.

The upcoming new release of Vibor has a new feature: It displays a large contact picture in the upper half of the screen, above the popup-dialog, on incoming calls.
Vibor will also display the phone-number, or name of the contacts if you have stored the same phone-number to more than one contact. All user-configureable, of course.

And there's also a new Vibrate-Before-Alarm feature.

Vibor's new version is about to be released soon, check here for updates: http://www.nop.at/vibor/
