mine is: N90

Improvements (as per my observation from the old firmware, .0527)
Font size bigger when composing messages;
White line gone when assigning default numbers and composing message;
Keypad lock now working normal.
Phone response time is faster.

Please feel to post..

**N90/N70 can now work with iSync 2.1.**

I'll let a few more revisions get released before upgrading, hopefully at around 3.7 or 4.0

Me? Well I find it mildly buggy (the randomly reverting to the Nokia theme ringtone) but not that slow and I've compared my Orange N70 to a friend's Vodafone N70. However, having said that, it doesn't run as smoothly / fast as my old 7650 did. 😞

If you want to keep the slowness to a minimum then keep all active ringtones and themes in the phone memory and not on the MMC card. You can keep your unused tones and themes on the card and move them back and forth from phone memory as and when you want to use them. Also if you want to minimise the frequency of the phone using the Nokia ringtone then change your log history from 30days to 1 day... Menu > Log > Options > Settings > Log duration.

As per Steve and N/A told me I keep my N70 running fast reducing the call log up to 1 day and the ringtone and theme I am using in the phone memory

It is not so slow as some people may tell, and indeed when you keep the theme u use at the moment on your phone memory and when your phone memory isn't too full it is really smooth. I have aswell a 1GB memory card and it reads and writes fast

V4.0603.2.0.3

I had the opportunity to upgrade it 2 weeks ago and the improvements seen in all the bluetooth capabilities have impresed me. It works now better with my Blutooth car hands-free as well as with TomTom 5

Are you sure it is v4? If so this a new firmware recently released.

Woops, just read your post and the date you listed, of course its new! doh

Where did you get it done?

YES, I do. I'm pretty sure it is release 4. It is not commercial at all. I had the opportunity to upgrade it in Nokia's premises 3 weeks ago. It was the latest beta release they were managing at that time.

Not only enhaces the reliability of my N70 but also adds small useful details such as software key for videocalls (while you dial something the right soft key acts as videocall direct key instead of selecting Options/Make videocall as in v3 and v2), or offers you the possibility to block your camera in each terminating videocall. Small improvements which do N70 even better (at least for me)

Sweet, any idea when it will go to final release?
You wouldn't happen to have be able to test tomtom for general reliability with a speed camera database would you?

Yes I have tested TT5.20 with the spped camera databases and the behaviour is now much better than with v3 (not ideal yet but better definately), which proves that Nokia has something to do in all these problems we see.

The point now is that I do not see any hangs in my N70 but TT gets slow from time to time when I am near a PoI. The situation is a little bit different that the crash I used to experience when having v3. Anyway I still have to check the workaround I saw in the post which shows the problems with TT: use the common databse and not the single files. I'm a little bit lazy now to merge all the databses but I'll test it soon. I'll give you feedback as well.

About the relase date, I do not have visibility on that but I guess that new beta versions are to come until making someone as official.

Flashed this morning... not tried it with TT5 yet... hope to soon tho

The process of flashing N70 is done with the same USB cable the comes with the phone or a special cable its requiered? does NOKIA has special tools for doing this software update in the phone?
