hey all
wanted to ask..
the various methods of transfering data to the rs-mmc card on the 7610 are so woefully slow that im resorting to desperate measures and i need ur help!!
looking at the connectors i am considering soldering some extension wires to the mmc connectors on the back of the 7610 and drilling a hole in the side of the 7610 so that it has a slot like the 6630 for the memory card.
i dont know whether hot swapping cld be done on this phone or not, but im gonna give it a go and see wat happens!!
worst case scenario is that u will have to turn the phone off and remove the memory card thru the new slot to transfer files onto it. at least u wont have to pull apart the phone to get to the memory card!!
and it will be damn faster that transferring by cable or bt!!!
is this idea feasable??
no thanks to u lot! didnt reply to my cries for help! hehe
the slot is attached to my back cover. its currently in a rough form and i'll smooth it out later but it all works.
i can plug the rs-mmc card in and out at will without having to turn the phone off.
this had to be done as the 7610 is such a good phone and i think its better than the 6630 and 6680 in that its faster and less prone to crashing.
anyways heres sum pics..

you can actually use a card reader to transfer the files. it'll be much faster and much stable
