Hi everyone,
I am Dimitris Manos, project leader of The Exchange Student, an adventure game that was initially developed for Series 60 Mobile Phones. Until a while ago we were working for a publisher from Russia called Magixoft, but Magixoft announced to us that they would cancel the project and move resources to another project they had (not related to gaming).
Me and the artists working for The Exchange Student decided to look elsewhere for a publisher/developing company. And we are also positive to the prospect of making the game for other platforms/devices too if necessary. The artists who work on the game are big names of the adventure game community. They are:
- Bill Tiller: He was working for Lucasarts and EA for titles like The Curse of Monkey Island, The Dig, Rebel Assault, Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine, Lord of the Rings and he is now working for A Vampyre Story. He makes backgrounds for the Exchange Student. You can see the projects he has worked on here.
- Bill Eaken: He was working for Lucasarts for titles like Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis and The Dig and is working now for A Vampyre Story. He makes backgrounds for The Exchange Student.
- Paco Vink He is the creator of the famous Monkey Island comic. He creates characters and animations for The Exchange Student.
The story of The Exchange Student is about Emilio Carboni, a 22 y.o. Italian student who has never had a girlfriend in his entire life. His friend Vicenzo just came back from an exchange program in Sweden. Vicenzo was really satisfied with the program since he met a lot of very attractive ladies during his stay in Sweden. Emilio decides to follow his friend's path. He travels to Sweden to spend a semester there, studying in a city of Sweden called Vsters. Emilio will be constantly hitting on girls without any luck. During the exchange program he will also become acquainted with two Spanish guys, Pedro and Miguel, and a German guy called Mathias. Pedro, Miguel and Mathias are typical party animals, strong believers of the Carpe Diem philosophy. The Spanish guys make up a 'points' game. In this game whenever one of them kisses a girl, gets a point. In the end of the exchange program they will all count the points to declare the lover of the year. Emilio, who is a quite confident guy despite his mishaps, embarks on a quest for points!
The game is very similar to Al Lowe's Leisure Suit Larry's series and it also has influences from the cartoon series Johnny Bravo. We are looking for a company that will code the game and that will release it to the public. The script is finalized and 40% of the graphics are ready. If development started again today, I would say that the game would be ready by end of October/beginning of November. Those interested please email . You can also contact me on MSN () or Skype (dimidimidimi) or on my phone no: +46702053444 .
If anybody has any questions I would be happy to answer them.
