I found a copy of webviewer on the net, it was zipped up so i unzipped it (funnily enough) it then opened to show webviewer.jad and webviewer zipped up again but containing loads of files named like a.class b.class c.class d.class right upto z.class. are these the right files for the webviewer program for the 7650? i didn't think that the phone itself was able to identify .zip files without that compression program and i also noticed that there wasn't a .jav file anywhere inside the root folders.
please help
just send the .jad or the .jar to the phone.
Forgotten which one but it will work that way.
hi, in my first post, i wrote jav instead of jar, but there isn't a jar file in the webviewer thingy i downloaded. the jad file itself, tells older phones what to install, and acts as a command to run any installations, it never was needed for the 7650, that's why jad files are only normally 1 kb in size, BUT the webviewer i downloaded, after being unzipped, showed a jad file, and another unzipped file, if i loaded onto my phone just the jad file, then it wouldn't install anything, it'll tell my phone what to install, but theres no installation file for it, but on the other hand, if i uploaded both files onto my phone (the JAD file and the zipped file) i didn't think my phone would recognize the zip file for it to be installed.
but that was a quick reply you made 😊

the link that you posted me is what i'm talking about, when i download the jar file, it's 46 kb, but when i unzip it, it becomes a folder containing loads of .class files running from a to z like explained in my first post, but the uinzipped file itself contains no file which my phone will recognize as it doens't unzip to reveal ANY jar file. also, the jad file is only 1 kb and just acts as an installation command
You can download the .jar file from the ste, no need to unzip it. If you do you you'll get the file you describe. A .jar file contains in one neat package the file needed.

so i just upload the jad and jar files to my phone and it'll be recognized? even though the jar file is a zipped file?
Actually you only need the .jar file, but yes just upload it and it will be recognised.

i have also a question, do you need GPRS to use webviewer?
thanks
but thats the problem, when i download the jar file, it comes as Jar.zip, and it's actually a zipped up file, will my phone recognize this and install it?
Ok.... Here is what I get when I download WebViewer: WinRAR ZIP archive, and when I extract it I get: WinRAR archive - And that's the one I send to my phone... Hope it helps! 😃
brilliant, thanks very much 😊
