Hi,
Just bought new Nokia 9500 off eBay - works very well as a phone, the firmware is 5.22 (1). When I tried to connect to my PC, I got the following error:
Program Srcs
Reason code E32USER-CBase
Reason number 47
I then downloaded the newest version of PC Sync (6.6.16) and, according to PC Sync, my PC is running Windows 2000 SP4. Using either USB or Bluetooth, the "Phone" icon in the Taskbar shows the 9500 is connected, but the "Yin Yang" icon says Not Connected.
This is annoying but could be lived with IF the next problem is solved! When I insert the MMC that comes with the Nokia into it, nothing. Not seen in FIle Manager. Plug it into PC card reader and it is fine. I have reformatted it on my PC (using FAT, not FAT32, as I read that this is important) but can't get the 9500 to see it.
So I have a brand new very large phone, all the built-in apps work but I can't do anything with them :frown: ! Please can anyone help??
Do you have any other type of Sync software (Palm, Microsoft, Ipod etc), anything that you plug into the USB slot that would communicate with an external device this way?
More often than not it's usually just the case that there is a conflict between the devices, My P910i sync software often conflicts with my 9500.
I'd reccomend uninstalling all the various types of sync software for various devices, then reinstalling just the PC Suite including the USB drivers etc.
I had to do this yesterday and managed to get everything back up and working again, also check in the modem and cable settings with the phone itself to make sure it's not trying to create a modem or IP Passthrough connection.
As for the MMC, try formatting it from the file manager on the 9500 rather than on the PC.

Hi,
Thanks for the response. I couldn't format it in the 9500 as it wasn't "seen" by it.
TOok it to a Nokia repair centre - there was one 15 miles away - and it turned out it was the magnetic sensor-thingy on the battery case - it was broken and wouldn't detect the card. Why they use a magnetic sensor, who knows?
Anyway - if it happens to anyone else, take it to a repair centre and ask to try another battery cover to see if it solves it!!
Oh, and the sync software now works too!
i dont have a service centter near me so what exactly did they do to replace the cover
