This thread included a poll: How to soft and hard format a Nokia 6680?

hey guys.. hope somebody could help out.

I got 2 new 6680 for me and my girlfriend. they both have software version 2.04.15. But with different system font and as well as in some options (possibly due to of different made, as the manual says, i just cant tell).

I installed at both phone the FExplorer (great file manager and other stuffs) application.. btw its version 1.14 beta version is working fine.

We both have the same numbers of applications installed, same applications running and same phone settings. When the FExplorer was launched.. it shows the amount of free mem on the top portion (just below the application's name) mine was 6800KB. But my girlfriend's was 8000KB. I checked the processes and tasks using FExplorer and its identical.

I knew 6680 have 10MB internal memory.. How is this possible? Could the phone has defect on its memory?

Could anyone explain this to me?

Guys!

I just went to NOKIA service center and asked for an upgrade of my 6680 software. It is now version 3.04.37. And everything now is fine.. from free memory to changing its fonts.

TIP:
For those who are having problems with changing fonts for S60 series phones.. try upgrading the phone's OS. then try changing the font again.

you mentioned the nokia service center. do you have a link? I went to nokiausa.com and couldn't find anything on OS upgrades.

Guys..

Nokia does not recommend software upgrade to anybody unless they are having some sort of problems with their Nokia Phones. Probably that's why they dont post it in the web.

I am in the Philippines... they have this Nokia Centers in 'MALLS'. Some centers are within a mobile merchant's stores like SEMICON.

Try locating these centers via nokia.com.ph..

Glad to be of help.

NOTE: I dont normally surf the internet.. so i am sorry if i could not answer immediately to questions.
