Faulty memory card or is it my phone?

Hi everyone. I have just bought a Kingston 512mb memory card off eBay which worked fine the first day. Now all of a sudden my applications that I have downloaded will not stay in the folders I move them to. They keep moving back to the main menu (where they first appear once installed) and are listed after 'Tools'. Sometimes they disappear altogether as do my images stored on my memory card so I have to turn my phone off then on.

Is this a fault with the memory card or do you think there is something wrong with my phone? Or could I have a possible virus? I didn't format the memory card when I got it, should I have done this? Please help

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me.

my phone deleted all images so i got a new memory card and when i put my games back on the card and then i put them in a folder called games that i created yet next time i looked my games were all in the main menu and my games folder was empty

i found it to be the firmware as i got mine updated and i have created folder again and put games in it and there still there.....

take the phone back where you got it and ask them to update firmware or take it to your nearest nokia service centre and get them to upgrade the firmware....

type your postcode at the link to find nearest service centre (uk)

Thanks for replying. Unfortunatly I got my phone from 'simply 3g' online so I don't think I could send it back. I'm on contract. How much does it cost for a firmware update? You definitly don't think it's the memory card. Do you need to update firmware to use a 512mb memory card?
