Havin' troubles visiting the forum!

I get that too at times. It's probably a server problem.. or maybe we're just two very unlucky dudes :P

Could be due to the swapping over from the last server ... Problems can take a while to iron out so bear with Rafe ! Im sure he'll have it sussed in no time at all ...

Sorry about this.

Someone launched a DoS attack on the server according to the hosting people. The error means MySQL is not working. Hopefully this shouldn't happen again.

I received that error, too, but not for the first time since the site-moving, but also one or two days back. Massive DoS-attacks against AAS? Hope not...

Not necessairly against us, just the server! And yes there was a minor hiccup a few days ago. Only last 20 mins or so and late at night, so most people didn't notice.

happened to me only once after the site move, didnt really bother me that much. thanks for keeping this site up and running, Rafe. good job!

Rafe, me too got that error msg only once so far. Perhaps is due to over congested in the network or the MySQL server is really too busy in handling requests from users.

I suppose I'm addicted, but there's so much going on in the forums 24/7 that it's really hard work to follow if you don't log in every 30 minutes 😃.

now im starting to get problems... everytime i make a post i get the prompt "cant find emai topic notify" or something like that... also the last post column i believe is not up to date, and lastly, maybe it just missed me, but i dont think my number of total posts is not updated as well...

anybody else getting this? :cry:

I have been having this problem since yesterday.

I also dont seem to be able to attach files.
Nor is the postcount updated.
Nor can i see new posts on topics 😞 (only on certain threads since
others seem to be doing fine) .
Also, the "Last Post by" also does not seem to be updated. For example...

Seems to update my post count fine!, Maybe it's a problem with certain accounts.....Or maybe not, but it works fine for me.

Part of the problem with the downtime last night is that e-mail went down before anything else. This meant the board couldn't send out topic notifications and therefore couldn't complete the topic / post process. This means some topics (about a 100) are out of sync in terms of post numbers this will mean several things.

1) Post count wil appear not to be updated, or will be out of alignement
2) New posts on affected topics may not be visible
3) Last post by xxx wil be wrong.

I'm working on a fix now. I have individually fixed two of the posts mentioned here.

I've also figured how to fix this problem.. I think.. just implemented fix and the 7650 picture topic (the big one) works ok now. The post count may take a little longer, but I'm on it.

BTW thee-mail topic notify was because of people choosing a language to view the board in that wasn't properly installed. I set these users to english, but will be insatlling more langauges at some point to fix this.

If this happens again let me know.
