A1000 sync issue pls HELLP

Greetings,

I've a Motorola A1000 which I'd like to sync with outlook 2003... And everytime I run thru the Sync process with Desktop suite, I get the error Outlook fails to open
and the error message below

The Calender syncronisation failed. The error returned was 0x1.
The Contacts syncronisation failed. The error returned was 0x1.

I tried to download the SP1 and it is up-to-date with SP1 now. It is still causing the problem. I'm running the updated version of desktop suite which I got from motocoder website just two days b4.

I also changed the default location of contacs, calender etc to point to outlook.

One thing I've not tried is to completely remove outlook and reinstall. I'm not willing to do so unless there is nothing else that I could try to fix it. I'm not sure uninstalling wuld do any better.

Also I'm yet to try this phone on another pc. Has anyone have a fix for this pls? This is going over my head and getting really frustrating!!! I'm sure this is an outlook issue and not my phone or desktop suite software??

1. are you getting the small pop up window asking some program is trying to access your outlook contacts, do you want to allow ?. (This popup windows comes only in Outlook 2003 if i am correct).

You have to say yes to that pop up to successfully sync.

2. In the MDS sync settings, can you select the folders in outlook ?. If you can, then you should be able to sync successfuly.

Lastly as you said, if none of the above works, I think the quick solution is to unistall the outlook and re-install.
