Hi All,

thanks for the informative site keep up the good work!

As a Newbie I have a couple of questions that I am hoping you experienced users can answer. I have tried to search the forums but I havent found any direct answers.
Firstly I have to choose between the Older N-Gage or the newer QD. I have read the stickies on which is the best but their are so many divided opinions I am still left with which one to get. On one hand I can buy an old N-Gage used for around 70 Euros and new for around 120 Euros. The newer QD runs at around 100 Euros used and around 180 Euros new. I must admit my prime use for the N-Gage will be as a GPS unit (which I have further questions) and secondly as a telephone and then thirdly as a Game Machine. However in saying this I have an ear for a few MP3's or two and like the thought of Stereo sound. Would the mono sound on the QD effect Navigation software speech? How I answer the telephone or listen to the radio is not significant for me. I have heard that the QD has a better screen and a better battery life. Also from what I read it has version 2.0 of the operating system but what is the differerence between version 1.0 and 2.0. Is one more stable than the other?
As a GPS unit is the N-Gage the way to go?? From what I see it is over 250 Euros for a PDA with Navigation software and here I can get an N-gage (used) and a Bluetooth GPS for around 130 Euros then I must choose the software. Which software is the best and which software will run on the N-Gage Old and Ngage GQ?I have read various topics on which MMC cards are compatible with the N-Gage but does the older N-Gage support cards over 128MB as I think a GPS software would require at least 256MB.
I would appreciate any help from anyone and will take all opinions on board.

Chris

The QD has same screen as original N-Gage. Both are based on the same software versions (Symbian OS 6.1 and Series 60 1.2). I'd take the original N-Gage for its USB connectivity, stereo sound and FM radio. The minor benefits the QD have are slightly smaller size, no "sidetalking" and easier swapping of MMC cards.

Newer GPS apps might not work with either one (i.e., they may require Series 60 2nd Edition, version 2.0 or later).
