Mic problem

Hi All,

I have been having mic problem with my sendo X recently.Previously it used to work ok.People were able to here me , but in low voice.But now when I speak they hear it as if I have been speaking from very long distance from the phone ,or in other words the voice has become extremely low, almost inaudiable. Could this be some software problem ? I reformatted the phone but still I have the same problem.
I am thinking of changing the mic of the phone,but it will be difficult for me to buy from the SendoSmartphones.com since I am in India. Can anyone give specification of the mic so that I can get it from here in India.
Is it easy to change the mic ?

Thanks,

Hi,

The problem you're having is definitely the "normal" mic problem, which the mics available at Sendo Smartphones fixes, however, I am aware of the problems you have in actually buying one from us. (I have been looking into ways to work this out for you, but haven't found a solution yet)

In the meantime, if you take the phone apart, you can clean the connectors on your current mic, which will make it work better (for a while). You need a T6 (Torx size 6) screwdriver to do this, but no other special tools are required.

There's a schematic diagram of how the Sendo X is assembled available for download at the Sendo Smartphones site in the Software Downloads section.

Thanks Stuart, hoping that you find the solution soon. I am really surprised what happened suddenly that it stopped working .As I said it was working properly before.

@Stuclark

Having not looked at this brilliant Sendoknowledgebase, I was not aware that sendosmarthphones.com sells mics for replacement. Now that I found out (and wanting to order one) can you please tell me what the difference is between the replacement mic and the original one. Is it slightly bigger, thicker? Just curious...

Greatings from overseas! (Netherlands)

the new version of the mic has longer contacts than the original OEM version in the production phones. the longer contacts ensure a good connection with the moterboard of the phone, whereas the older ones are prone to collecting debris - and with the shorter contacts contact is lost.
