Orange Home Screen On Nokia

Hi, this is my first post on these forums as its the first time I've had something important to say! I recently got a Nokia 6680 as an upgrade on an orange contract, and it is a fantastic phone. However, I am appalled by the extra software orange have added into the Nokia firmware, especially the useless "home screen" that apparently (according to orange) can't be removed. This software removes several useful functions of the phone and makes the whole thing a lot less friendly to use. Having looked through several forums for answers about this, and by my own experience, I have found that this addition by orange also ruins the Nokia OS. I have frequent low memory errors and lock-ups, as many other orange customers have experienced. Because of this I got in contact with nokia and told them about the issues I had with this rubbish additional software, they informed me that at a Nokia phone shop I could get the software removed for FREE (reflashing) under the standard Nokia warranty, I was incredibly happy 😃 This was great news, and hopefully if other people start complaing and taking phones into Nokia repair centres, then orange might stop being silly and adding new software, and also stop trying to make all phones the same! Just thought I'd let you know, mines being done at Nokia@Fonebox in Chester UK 😊 Hope this is good news to some of you....I'm off to get my new orange free phone!
