hey ppl...it may sound stupid, but wat is the actual function of the button provided under the headset port ..i know the button on the other side is for activating voice recognition..but this one??? 😃 😃 😃
doubt
That's for the "lefties"... 😉 The idea is that u use your right thumb to activate voice dialing, but if your left-handed, u can program it under the left-button. Now I hear you ask, isn't it possible to use both buttons for different functions? Nope, Sendo's argument is that it's convenient for both left- and righthanded ppl...so u can only use one button at a time... :frown:

Err... Both buttons have very different functions, on my X at least. One is for the voice dialling thing (on mine it's the right hand button) and the other one is the Edit key (on mine, it's the left hand button, under the headset jack). On Nokia phone, i believe that this is the key with a wee pen on it (not sure though since i've never used a Nokia phone).
The edit key is meant to be used when you are editing text, in Messaging or Notes for example. Press the edit key together with the Left or Right direction key (quite tricky to do actually) and you'll select the text located at the ritght or left side of the cursor. You then have the possibility to copy/cut/paste this text wherever you want.
A short click on the Edit key will also bring up a menu where you can in particular quickly change the language of the dictionnary. Very handy for those of us regularly writing SMS in different languages.
With the latest firmware, the Edit key can also be used in the Now! screen. Select one of the plugin (e.g. the calendar or messaging) and press the Edit key to toggle its header on and off.
Well that's funny...(actually it isn't...) When I asked Sendo why I couldn't use the left button (read: why the left didn't work) they simply replied, because of the left/right handed storyblabla...So I guess I have another hardwarebug to add to the list... :frown: Damn it...
read the owners manual - they can be quite helpful
