Some some of the other Posters, I really really like my 9290 and it does most of what I want. Yes some areas are a bit slow like not having GPRS but it still gets mail and on the internet, we just have to be a bit patient. I also have an N-gage QD which I really really like also. As on person said you can use the 9290 without the sim card and install it when you want to use the phone or us my N-gage QD. What I am really looking for is some kind of mapping software. I have Steve's Mapper GB but I am looking for maps of the US. Does anyone have any ideas if there was or is any thing like that availabe please.

Thanks,
Bob

its very good

Thank you I will give it a go. I have MIDP on my 9290 but in many cases I try to install Java programs and it will just say "Note" as it can't find it. I will install this version on my 9290 and see what happens. Also do I have to use WAP to install these or can I just do the ususal download to my laptop and put them on my MMC card????
I have, for some reason, not figured out the WAP thing yet and by trying to set it up I have now messed up my regular email and internet facitities. It looks like I will have to format and start over again. I will back up my device before doing that and most of my data is on my MMC card.

Thanks,
Bobby

I always copy MIDP apps (.JAR) from PC directly to smartphone.

MIDP Games rarelly works, but Mobile GMaps works great!

Thanks I have just formatted my machine and am currently installing my new files including MIDP. I will see what happens. There are a lot of maps on that web site I will have to see which ones work. Do you have any in particularly recommend??/
Thanks,
Bobby
