Help please for a trekker

Hi all,

I'd really like to get the whole, tricorder noise when flip is opened thing, going on my P910. I've searched the forums and realise I have to install "uptime" but every attempt I have made to do so (via my-symbian.com) has failed. Can the more adept among you point me toward a place where I can safely download "uptime" please?

Also, I have the TNG tricorder noise currently but would really like the TOS tricorder noise and the tos communicator noise. Again, I found some links on this site but none seem to work.

Thank you in anticipation

Glen

What do you mean, "Star Trek isn't real". You'll be telling me Kirk isn't still trapped inside the nexus next!"

:icon14: I'm coming late to your question ... sorry. ScaryBear software released a very nice, simple "Tricorder" app for PocketPC which I like. I also liked that their sounds were simple WAVs which I put on my 3650 and now my 6682. It doesn't make the sound on "opening," but I use the TNG tricorder sound for a soft, quiet ring, and a tricorder "select" sound for incoming message. Much better than 99.2% of the rings and polyphonic blather out there.

If you have the "composer" app for your phone, you could probably program the TOS communicator "boop-boop" sound effect. I found tablature for the Alexander Courage's "Star Fleet Fanfare" and put it on my 3650. A bit too geeky for my taste, but corny enough to draw smiles.

BTW I also use a sample of the TOS main viewscreen echo-y sound for my PDA meeting reminder. Always gets attention in mixed crowds.

PM me on the forum if you'd like more info.
