Blackberry & GPRS Internet At The Same Time?

Hi,

I'm thinking of enabling Blackberry on my 9500 phone. I have a question that no one at my Service Provider or Network can answer.

I know that if I am connected to the internet via GPRS and someone sends me a MMS I will not receive it since another GPRS connection is active (being the internet one)

Does the same apply for Blackberry? i.e can I be using Blackberry and Internet or MMS via GPRS at the same time? My network says that even though both work on GPRS, Blackberry uses a different type so it is, yet my service provider says all technologies won't work at the same time because all three are GPRS

Tnx
Ari

in india we can use both but we have to pay for both normal GPRS & Blackberry service. I was told that both use different APN's so you will need both the services active if i want to use my Nokia 9500 as a modem as well.
So basically if i want blackberry service on my 9500 & i want to continue using my phone as a modem, i need both the services active & have to pay for both seperately. I have not yet tried it, but i guess it should work..

But i was wondering how it it work, because using the blackerry APN my phone will be online always & when i want to use my phone as a modem, i will have to dis-connect from the blackberry service & then connect using the APN & settings installed for my normal GPRS service.

I dont think both can be connected at the same time..there might be some conflict.
I cannot use my phone as modem if i'm connected using the APN settings of blackberry..which is wierd i think..

Here in India, i pay Rs.199/month (US$4.50) for unlimited data on EDGE.
& i will have to pay Rs.899/month (US$20.50) for blackberry service.

I'm happier with profimail installed which pull's my email every 30mins anyways...works perfectly for me... 😊
