14-11-2002 Low cost P800 development
Metrowerks, well know for embedded systems development packages, has released a "low cost" version of the CodeWarrior Professional Development Studio for Symbian OS. The "low cost" version is called the Personal Edition V.2 and only support's development to the latest version of Symbian OS - Version 7 - and the UIQ user interface. Since the first phone to have Symbian OS v. 7 is the Ericsson P800 - and Nokia use another user-interface (Series 60) - the potential market is quite limited right now. But the Personal Edition V. 2 "only" cost $395 compared to Professional's price of $1395. But you won't be able to do on-device debugging - and there is no built-in version control.

So, is anyone in here planning to buy this package, or already has? I'm really interested to know how many developers are in here and what they're developing for p800.

Yes, I'm interested. I have ask in

if someone has exact informations about the internals of the P800. But it is seems no one
does. So I think, with the kit I will get a full specification of the P800. This is somewhat
important for me, because I want develop small mathematical applications for the P800.
Knowing a lot about the internal structure would give me the possiblity to compute faster.
