Hi.
I have recenlty got a new Nokia 6630 from Orange (UK Network Provider) after my original from them was damaged. They were happy to replace it but once i got it back i noticed that it had new firmware running that effects the usability of the phone.
On the main screen there is a column of icons located down the left side of the screen that are shortcuts to various apps like gallery, messages, contacts, orange world(web access) etc. These are extremely annoying and i want them removing.
Orange said that it is Symbians fault for having poor software on the first version and they were experiencing issues from customers so they replaced it. The new firmware is branding 'orange' too so i think that they have done it to lock the phone to their network...But anyway...
When i press and hold the menu key it pops up the running applications and when i click 'telephone' it takes me to the main screen of my original phone and firmware. I hope i havnt confused anyone!...the long and short of it is i need it reflashing or can anyone advise me otherwise?
Thankyou.
Nokia 6630 Firmware issues! Pls Help!
no need to post the same message in 2 different sections.
As for the homescreen, you are stuck with it im afraid(just like i am), unless you can sweet talk a nokia service centre into flashing it to a generic version(which they are not supposed to do) or find somewhere not official who has the tools to flash BB5 phones.
good luck
i can upgrade the firmware for you to none orange i have the tools,
