Hi!
My application's SIS file is about 10Mb in size. It passes all of the
Packaging and Installation test cases. But I have a confusion about the
following test case:
Test ID: PKG-05
Test Title : Reinstall
Full Description: Can be reinstalled successfully after
uninstallation(including reinstallation to alternative memory devices).
Does this test case also include testing for installing the application on
an already installed application(i.e. replacing an application)?
I am facing a problem, when I try to install my application and choose to
replace an already installed application, the Installer successfully
uninstalls the application but doesn't start the reinstallation of the
application.
I just wanted to know that is this a Symbian OS problem? As I can't find any
problem in my .PKG file.

This could be a problem relating to the sheer size of your SIS which is quite
unusual. Can you please mail [email][email protected][/email] with details of the
phone(s) you see this on, their software revisions, etc.?
In short: if we can verify this is an installer defect on the phones, we would
waive that specific test for you since you can do nothing about it, provided you
offer some supporting documentation/advice/help to users to warn them of this
issue (e.g. "When upgrading from an earlier version, please completely remove
the earlier copy from your phone by doing X, Y, Z and then commence a new
install of the latest SIS file"😉. Likewise, if it's a defect, we will create a
FAQ for future reference too.

waiting for a reply from them. But I didn't included the details about the
device on which I am facing this problem.
FYI, I am developing on Sony Ericsson P910i.
